About Me

Square

Hello! My name is Caroline McDonald, and here is a little bit about me:

Born late at night in a French-Canadian snowstorm in December 1985, I understand that people’s tastes in art are as unique as snowflakes. This is what inspires me to create custom-made pieces of varying styles.

I have lived and traveled to many countries and am currently based in Singapore. Frequent uprooting has led me to rely on art as a way to reconnect with myself and create a sense of belonging wherever I am. That is what I wish to convey to others through my work:

connexion and belonging.

A self-taught artist, I deliberately turn my back on an ever-growing digitalised world, and use only gloriously messy materials. Watercolours are my favourite, as the pigments have a mind of their own and each finished piece contains an element of surprise. I also use gouache, inks, acrylics, and a 4B pencil when I’m in a sketchy mood.
